Use Current Branch for Business for a machine via Group Policy

Q. How can I configure a Windows 10 machine to use Current Branch for Business instead of Current Branch via Group Policy?

A. Current Branch for Business (CBB) is released around 4 months after Current Branch (CB). It is the same build, it is just delayed to give companies more time to test and also includes any fixes since the CB release. To use Group Policy to configure a machine to use CBB instead of CB (defer feature updates) perform the following:

  1. Open the Group Policy Object that you will be applying to computers

  2. Navigate to Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Windows Update - Defer Windows Updates

  3. Double click Select when Feature Updates are received

  4. Set to Enabled

  5. Select if you want Current Branch or Current Branch for Business and any addition delay in days for receiving then click OK

  6. Close the GPO
