Universal Windows 10 App for Controlling Your Camera with Microsoft Band
A new app allows you to control your device's camera directly from the Microsoft Band.

There have been a few attempts at producing Microsoft Band apps that allow interaction with the smartphone’s camera. Over time, many of those apps have been abandoned, and none of them ever worked extremely well. A new app seeks to change that.
Called Shutter Band, the app released recently in its first iteration and actually works pretty well. Here’s the list of functions Shutter Band currently offers for controlling your camera directly from the Band:
Take a picture
Start video recording
Switch between rear and front cameras
Use the flash as a flashlight
A more interesting piece to Shutter Band, though, is that it’s a universal Windows 10 app meaning it runs on both Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 for PCs. If you pair your Band with your PC, you can control the camera connected or built into your PC.
The app is free, but the author suggests that a donation (in-app purchases) will help keep the app up-to-date and bring new features quicker.
