Q & A: Restoring Deleted Top Sites in Edge

Q:  I’m using the new Edge browser and I accidently deleted one of the sites listed under the Top Sites list and now the site won’t come back into the Top Sites list no matter how often I visit the site. Is there any way to restore the site to my Top Sites list?

A: I’ve always found the inability to customize Top Sties in Edge or Frequent sites in Internet Explorer to be an unfortunate limitation.  The easiest way to reset the sites listed in Edge’s Top Sites or Internet Explorer’s Frequent sites is by clearing your browsing history. The deleted site will appear on the list after the site is visited a few times. Be aware that clearing browsing history will clear the entire list of sites so it may take a few days to rebuild the list. To clear the browsing hosting in Edge use the Hub icon then select the  History and then  Clear all history  options and the click Clear.

Alternatively, you can reset the excluded sites by deleting the following registry key. As always you need to take extreme caution if you edit the registry directly.
