Microsoft unveils official Windows 10 Launch site

The buzz is increasing as Microsoft publishes their official Windows Launch portal where they are sharing a big collection of information relating to the Windows 10 launch which begins on 29 July 2015.

If you head over to http://blogs.windows.com/launch/ you will see a social media tracking area with embedded tweets as users around the world upgrade to Windows 10 and use the hashtag #UpgradeYourWorld to talk about it.

Next Microsoft shares information about their partnerships with multiple organizations that are reaching out to the community to assist users with their Windows 10 upgrade. This effort is critical to Microsoft's goal of seeing Windows 10 installed on one billion devices in the next 2-3 years.

Over the last nine days Microsoft has been involved in their own countdown to Windows 10 with their 10 Reasons to Upgrade to Windows 10 videos. Each day a new video has been released highlighting a Windows 10 feature and they are all at the launch portal in one place.

There is also a collection of Media Assets that include a couple of interesting tidbits.

First is the Windows 10 Quick Guide which is available in a Word document. The 14 page document takes you through all the key areas of Windows 10 including Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Windows Hello and Windows Store.  This document would be a great primer for someone who is unfamiliar with Windows 10.

Finally, there are some new videos available that go into depth on some specific Windows 10 areas:

The Windows 10 Experience

A Deeper Look at Microsoft Edge

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.

I served for 29 plus years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in November 2011. My work background in the Navy was telecommunications related so my hobby of computers fit well with what I did for the Navy. I consider myself a tech geek and enjoy most things in that arena.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.

I previously hosted the Observed Tech PODCAST for 10 years and 317 episodes and now host a new podcast called Faith, Tech, and Space.

I began contributing to Penton Technology websites in January 2015 and in April 2017 I was hired as the Senior Content Producer for Penton Technology which is now Informa Tech. In that role, I contribute to ITPro Today and cover operating systems, enterprise technology, and productivity.
