How To: Fix Miracast on a Surface Pro 3 Running Windows 10

A friend of mine contacted me a few nights ago, having issues getting his Surface Pro 3 to connect to his Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter after upgrading the tablet to Windows 10.

Initially, we considered that his Wireless Display Adapter was faulty, so he visited Wal-Mart (of all places) and swapped it with a new one. Same result. The Surface Pro 3 just would not connect to the wireless display network.

The solution was a bit different than the one related to the issues for the HP Spectre x360 that I wrote about recently. The Spectre just needed a driver and BIOS update. After a bit of digging, the solution that was identified really relates to just about any driver-level issue you might experience after a upgrading to Windows 10. In most cases, just uninstalling and allowing Windows 10 to reinstall a driver fixes the issue.

And, that was the case here for the Surface Pro 3.
