ConfigMgr 2007 and Endpoint Protection 2010 Get Limited Windows 10 Compatibility

If you’re still running System Center Configuration Manager 2007 and/or Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010, Microsoft has provided compatibility updates to allow the products limited function with Windows 10 clients.

For System Center Configuration Manager 2007, Update KB3044077 provides the following capabilities:

  • Strictly for LTSB customers: Configuration Manager client features, Branch Distribution Point role and the Configuration Manager console for Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB. Other editions of Windows 10 are not supported.

  • Software distribution

  • Software update management

  • Desired configuration management

P.S. Windows 10 OS deployment is still not supported (and probably never will be). To deploy Windows 10 in a Configuration Manager 2007 environment, use MDT 2013 with Update 1.

For Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010, this is what you can expect after applying KB3073408:

  • Enables the installation of the Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 client on computers that are running Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB edition. Other editions of Windows 10 are not supported.
