Band Users Should Avoid Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 14342

On May 16th, Microsoft delivered Windows 10 Mobile Insider Build 14342.1004 to the Fast Ring Insiders, and then delivered subsequent fixes to solve various issues from reliability to extreme device heat.

Today, Microsoft is ready to send that same Build to Windows Insider on the Slow Ring. However, as I’ve done before when new Builds warrant it, I’m suggesting that if you use the Microsoft Health mobile app and rely on it for your Microsoft Band synching, you’ll want to avoid this Build.

At the bottom of an updated blog post announcing the original Fast Ring release of this Build, Microsoft has provided the following update:

UPDATE 5/31: We are aware of issues with some apps such as Microsoft Health running in the background causing higher than normal battery drain.

If you’re one of those who don’t ever read the full text of a Build announcement, particularly if you have to page down more than three times, you probably missed it.
