Security for Storage Area Networks

Hifn announced their new HIPP III 4300 and 4350 Storage Security Processors, which provide security for storage area networks (SAN). The processors are designed to meet specifications for iSCSI, FCIP and NAS.

Hifn announced their new HIPP III 4300 and 4350 Storage Security Processors, which provide security for storage area networks (SAN). The processors are designed to meet specifications for iSCSI, FCIP and NAS. Hifn said the new processors are based on their FlowThrough architecture and handle IPSec protocol on a single chip. The 4300 model can handle throughput of 1Gbps in full duplex mode (2Gbps total) and the 4500 can handle up to 4Gpbs total. The processor pricing starts at $47 per chip in quantities of 10,000.
