Onyx Software bought Versametrix Corp., an Internet technology developer. The acquisition extends Onyx's e-business solutions by expanding its front office portal product offerings to include a comprehensive, browser-based framework and Web-based Business Intelligence (BI) solution.Versametrix's technology provides Onyx customers added flexibility to personalize and access their digital workplace with customer data, third-party applications, public domain Internet content, and corporate knowledge in a single, Web browser interface. Versametrix's core product, netMetrix, consists of highly configurable information cells that individual employees use to build personalized views of critical business information through their Web browsers.In addition to their previous joint development of Onyx Enterprise Portal, Onyx and Versametrix will introduce a BI solution later this year.Onyx issued 96,193 shares of its common stock to Versametrix's shareholders and assumed $61,500 of Versametrix debt in exchange for the entire Versametrix equity interest.
