Phillips Fox, a leading Australia-based commercial law firm and Hummingbird Communications Ltd. customer, was named a finalist in Kinetic Information's Process Innovation Awards. As one of two finalists competing for the Vision Award, the law firm was nominated for its innovation implementation of DOCSFulcrum 3.0.Last year, Phillips Fox implemented DOCSFulcrum 2.8, which provided an independent, single access point to precedents, advices, relevant Web sites, and library resources for staff and clients. The firm is now prototyping a legal knowledge portal based on DOCSFulcrum 3.0, which uses the Enterprise Table of Contents and Results List Clustering to create a gateway to customized legal knowledge."This portal provides the firm with a means to preserve and easily access its corporate memory, giving Phillips Fox's lawyers the ability to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively," says Steven Weissman, Kinetic Information president.Created in 1996 to honor superior applications for their business effectiveness, the Process Innovation Awards recognize companies, which implement outstanding applications in various vertical markets.
