Q. What is the F series VM in Azure?

A. The F series of VMs in Azure are a compute-intensive series of VMs that come with a varying number of cores; 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16. For each core the VM has:

  • 2 GB of memory

  • 16 GB of SSD temporary storage

As an example a 4 core (F4) VM has 8 GB of memory and 64 GB of SSD based temporary storage.
