Q. Should I use node fairness or System Center Virtual Machine Manager Dynamic Optimization?

A. You actually won't have a choice. SCVMM will automatically disable node fairness on Windows Server 2016 clusters and use its own Dynamic Optimization. Remember when using SCVMM it should initiate and manage all VM actions including migrations so it has an accurate state of resources. Node fairness performing its own live migrations would actually cause problems for SCVMM.
