Q: I need to reinstall the Azure Site Recovery agent on my System Center Virtual Machine Manager server with a new configuration. However, even after uninstalling the old agent, it still remembers the old configuration. How can I force it to run the entire configuration wizard again?

A: To completely remove the Azure Site Recovery (ASR) configuration from your System Center Virtual Machine Manager server, perform the following steps after you've uninstalled the ASR/Hyper-V Recovery Manager (HRM) agent:

  1. Start the registry editor.

  2. Delete the two following two registry keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftHyper-V Recovery Manager
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager ServerDRAdapter

  3. Close the registry editor.

When you run the ASR agent installation again, you should be prompted for all the configuration options.
