Perimeter eSecurity announced it has acquired Secure Electronic Communication Compliance Archival System (SECCAS), maker of outsourced messaging compliance solutions. The acquisition brings Perimeter the ability to offer companies tools that can help archive email, instant messages, faxes, and other communications.

SECCAS solutions are used by various financial institutions and publicly traded companies that must comply with various rules and regulations, such as thoses imposed by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). The company has focused strictly on compliance.

The company's solutions use a Web-based management interface along with desktop and server-level tools that don't require the installation of custom appliances. SECCAS boasts that it can bring a new client online "in a couple of hours" without any need to visit a client's site.

"We are thrilled to join forces with the leading provider of outsourced e-messaging compliance solutions for hedge funds and broker dealers," said Brad Miller, CEO of Perimeter eSecurity. "This acquisition further strengthens the value we provide to our 2,000 financial services clients."
