It’s a (Christmas) Wrap: PowerShell 5.0 RTM’s

In case you needed more to do this holiday season, Windows Management Framework (WMF) 5.0 has hit the big time, releasing as RTM just prior to Christmas. It’ll be tough to not be overshadowed by the release of Star Wars VII (which I’ve seen by the way – and it’s fantastic). Don’t worry, no spoilers ahead.

This release brings new things and improvements to old things. New things include Just Enough Admin (JEA), PowerShell Classes, PackageManagement, PowerShellGet, and others.

.NET Framework 4.5 is a required installation and WMF 5.0 is supported for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, and Windows 2008 R2 SP1 environments.

The download is available from here: Windows Management Framework 5.0
