When you change the DNS dynamic update credentials on Windows Server 2003 in DHCP cluster, the user account may be inconsistent across the DHCP cluster.

This behavior occurs because the DNS dynamic update credentials are stored in registry locations that are outside the cluster hive and outside the DHCP registry locations that are replicated in the cluster hive.

To workaround this problem behavior:

1. Start the DHCP snap-in.

2. Right-click the virtual server name and press Properties.

3. Select the Advanced tab.

4. Press Credentials.

5. Change the credentials to the account that you want to use.

6. Repeat steps 1 - 5 for all nodes in the DHCP cluster.
