When you attempt to log on with your domain account, the domain controller may hang. When you try to access your folder using a UNC path, you receive:

System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found.

This behavior can occur if the network components on the domain controller are not properly configured, or the networking device drivers you use on the Windows Server 2003 DC don't work with Windows Server 2003.

To resolve this issue, either update the network device drivers, or properly configure network components.

If NAT is installed but not properly configured, disable the IP NAT driver:

1. Start / Run / Devmgmt.msc / OK.

2. Use the View menu to select Show hidden devices.

3. Expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers.

4. Right-click IP Network Address Translator and press Disable.

5. Confirm your choice (Twice).

6. Shutdown and restart your server.

NOTE: A temporary workaround is to stop and start the Distributed File System service on the domain controller.
