JSI Tip 2955. When you try to print from Windows NT 4.0, you receive 'Network Name Cannot Be Found'?

When you print to a locally attached printer in Windows NT 4.0, you receive:

Error writing to : for document The network name cannot be found.

If you have mapped the local printer port to a network drive, this condition can happen.

To fix the problem, use Regedt32 to navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERNetwork

Select the subkey that represents the local port that is mapped to a network drive and delete it.

Exit Regedt32 and restart your computer.
