Wyse Technology announced the first in a line of Wyse Winterm Local Smart Card Solutions, providing an added layer of security to an already secure thin-client/server-based computing environment. The Winterm Local Smart Card Add-on software and Smart Card Manager software work in conjunction with Schlumberger Cyberflex Smart Cards, credit card-sized devices that store data such as user identification and authentication, delivering better security than passwords alone can provide. Wyse's Smart Card Add-On software and Smart Card Manager provide added security, speed, and flexibility for environments such as healthcare, banking, and government, where information lockdown is required and security is vital.

With local Smart Card Add-On software, users can automatically launch RDP or ICA sessions without having to enter their logons multiple times, saving time and increasing productivity. The Winterm Smart Card Manager is a simple and flexible platform that lets administrators program the Smart Cards to meet the specific security needs of the company or organization. The Smart Card Manager lets administrators customize the level of security and speed demanded by environments in which the secure lockdown of information is required.

Wyse has also announced that it will bundle all Wyse Winterm thin clients with Wyse's Rapport Workgroup edition and WyseWorks Remote Administrator management software.  For more details, visit the Wyse Web site.
