Why is a creation date sometimes later than a file modified date?

A. If you copied the file to your Windows NT computer from a Windows 2000 system, NT replaces the creation date with the date you copied the file. However, when you copy the file to a Win2K computer from an NT system, Win2K preserves the creation date.
