A. As with every other Administration tool in Windows 2000, DiskAdministrator has been replaced with a Microsoft Management Console (MMC)snap-in.

By default it is accessible via the Computer Management MMC snap-in

  1. Start the Computer Management MMC (Start - Programs - Administrative Tools- Computer Management)

  2. Select the Storage branch

  3. Select Disk Management

  4. Should look familiar

Alternatively create your own MMC console

  1. Start the MMC (Start - Run - MMC)

  2. Select "Add/Remove Snap-in" from the Console menu

  3. Click Add

  4. Select Disk Management and click Add

  5. Select Local Computer and click Finish

  6. Click Close

  7. Click OK to the main dialog

You now have your own MMC with just the Disk Management. You could save byselecting "Save As" from the Console menu, enter "DiskAdmin" as the name and click Save. You will now see under the Programsmenu a new folder, My Administrative Tools with Disk Admin as a MMC snap-in.
