When you use the PMC (Print Management Console) MMC (Microsoft Management Console) on an client computer that is running the x86 version of Windows XP, you cannot use the Automatically Add Network Printers feature to add a shared printer to the local print server, and you cannot view the properties of print components, like Printer, Port, Driver, and Form.

NOTE: You do not have these issues with x64 versions of Windows XP.

This behavior occurs because the x86 version of PMC does not support the Automatically Add Network Printers feature and it does not support property pages for print components.
