Netscape is changing strategies again, this time to loosen the ties betweenits SuiteSpot servers and Communicator suite. The plan is to make SuiteSpotequally accessible to any Web browser, including Microsoft's InternetExplorer. The switch is due with the next major release of SuiteSpot,code-named "Apollo," which is due early next year. Apollo will add suchcapabilities as Java, JavaScript, and "dynamic" HTML so that the user interface for Web applications can exist of the server.
With the current version of SuiteSpot, users must be running Communicatorto access the server's full functionality. This has led to an extremelyfat client, and corporate sites have complained about the 70MB install
