The Microsoft Network (MSN) is finally giving its customers access to freehome pages, the company announced Wednesday, through a deal with Talk City,an Internet hosting company. MSN Personal Home Pages, as the feature iscalled, will enable MSN customers to store up to 12 MB of data in their ownFrontPage-enabled Web sites.

"The addition of the MSN Personal Home Pages service demonstrates ourcommitment to the growing consumer need for online communication tools,"said Rob Bennett, group product manager for the Consumer and Commerce Groupat Microsoft. "Personal home page popularity has skyrocketed in recentmonths, and by teaming up with community specialist Talk City, we'reenabling families and friends--even if continents apart--to instantly createand enjoy their own personal corner of the Web."

The Microsoft Network is an online service similar to America Online (AOL)and CompuServe, though it currently trails those two services
