As expected, Microsoft has released the first public beta of FrontPage 98,their next generation WYSIWYG Web site development tool. FrontPage 98 includes the following features:

  • WYSIWYG table drawing tools and WYSIWYG frames creation and editing.

  • Animated Hover Buttons and graphical Themes for automatically   generating navigation bars and page banners.

  • Support for the latest Web technologies, such as Cascading Style Sheets,   Active Server Pages, Dynamic HTML, and CDF-based Push Technology.

  • Advanced site management features.

  • Seamless integration with Microsoft Office.

In addition to the 22 MB download of FrontPage 98 "beta 2," Microsoft hasalso made available a new version of Image Composer that weighs in with a12 MB download. The FrontPage 98 Web site also includes an online multimediademo, FrontPage98 tips and tricks, and other information
