Microsoft has rescinded a contract forcing temporary workers to waive theirrights to benefits after a rights advocate group representing the workerstook the software giant to court. Approximately 6000 people are now workingfor Microsoft in a "temp" capacity, and until today, none of them receivedany benefits. Microsoft says the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

"It was never intended to do what it did and if it was a mistake, it was amistake and it's been corrected," said Microsoft attorney Fred Tawsend.

"They claim this was inadvertent, but Microsoft has hundreds of attorneyswho review these forms and we're clear that they knew what they meant," responded attorney David West
