Microsoft Corporation announced on Monday the immediate availability of MSNMobile, the latest service to fall under its Microsoft Network (MSN)umbrella. MSN Mobile allows customers to receive wireless information ontheir pager and cellular phones, including news, sports, weather, stockquotes, and more. Microsoft has also purchased OmniBrowse, Inc., a wirelessdata service company whose technology is being incorporated into MSN Mobile.

"MSN Mobile will have a profound impact on how consumers and business usethe Web," said Yusuf Mehdi, director of marketing for the Consumer andCommerce Group at Microsoft. "We believe MSN Mobile will do for the Internetwhat the cellular phone did for the telephone."

As with the normal MSN site, MSN Mobile is highly customizable with detailedweather reports for over 500 U.S. cities and other personalized offerings.
