JSI Tip 9922. How do I set a password for the Windows XP Guest account?

By default, an enabled the Guest account allows anyone to login to a Windows XP computer without using a password.

To set a password on the Guest account:

1. Logon with Administrative privileges.

2. Open a CMD.EXE window.

3. Type the following command and press Enter:

net user guest PASSWORD

Where PASSWORD is the Guest account password that you want to set.
