JSI Tip 9456. Your Windows XP mouse pointer scheme does NOT change and you receive 'the mouse pointer files are missing or corrupted'?

When you attempt to change the Windows XP mouse pointer scheme, you experience the subject behavior if one or more of the .cur or .ani files are missing from the %SystemRoot%Cursors folder.

To fix this problem:

1. Insert the Windows XP CD.

2. Open a CMD.EXE window.

3. Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each line:

expand i386*.cu_ %SystemRoot%Cursorsrename %SystemRoot%Cursors*.cu_ *.curexpand i386*.an_ %SystemRoot%Cursorsrename %SystemRoot%Cursors*.an_ *.ani
