Even after you install the 823980 security update, or the 824146 security update, on an infected computer, it continues to generate network traffic in an attempt to spread the infection.

Microsoft has released the Microsoft Windows Blaster Worm Removal Tool (KB833330) to remove the Blaster worm and the Nachi worm from Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
