The subject behavior will occur if the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service is automatically started when the Remote Access Connection Manager is started.

If you install SP1 or later, the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service will NOT start when the Remote Access Connection Manager is started.

The Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service starts when any of the following is true:

  • You manually start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service.

  • ICF (Internet Connection Sharing) is enabled.

  • A 3rd-party program starts the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service.
