JSI Tip 2819. You receive event 12297 when the transfer the PDC FSMO role holder, but on the wrong domain controller?

When you transfer the PDC FSMO role to another domain controller, event 12297 is logged in the System event log of the new PDC FSMO role holder. This is by design.

Unfortuneatly, event 12297 is logged on all the domain controllers. with the name of the local domain controller as the new PDC.

This a logging error, and has no affect upon the role transfer. You can ignore the incorrect event messages.
