If the Windows NT 4.0 Server Share that contains a Windows 2000 client's profile is not set to Full Control, the following event is logged:

Event ID: 1000 Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Description: Windows cannot unload your registry file. If you have a roaming profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator. DETAIL: Access is denied.

Either change the share permission to Full Control, or move the profile to a Windows 2000 domain controller.

The problem arises because the Windows NT 4.0 Change permission does not allow WRITE_DAC access, needed by the profile code to update the server-based profile.
