JSI Tip 1996. Unable to logon after applying SP4 or later and then joining a domain?

If you join a domain after SP4, or a later Serive Pack, is applied, you may receive the following on restart:

System can not log you on to the domain because the systems computer account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is incorrect.If you use Server Manager to view the Properties of your computer:

The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

The event log on the authenticating domain controller has an event 5722 for your computer and your localevent log contains an event 3224 - The authentication service is unknown.

To resolve this problem, use Regedit on a working workstation to export HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftRPC and then import it to your computer.
