To alter the timeout on your lan or switched ethernet networks, use Regedt32 to browse to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesNetlogonParameters

Add Value name ExpectedDialupDelay, a type REG_DWORD value, and set it to a number of seconds between 0 and 600.
