A. There is a registry flag that sets whether or not the common groups are displayed on the Start Menu. To disable this setting, set HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorerNoCommonGroups to 0 using the registry editor (regedit.exe). By default this value will not exist.
