How to I upgrade/downgrade to a multi-processor system in Windows 2000?

A. In Windows 2000 to upgrade to multi-processor you just need tochange the computers driver as follows:

  1. Right click on 'My Computer' and select Properties

  2. Select the Hardware tab

  3. Click 'Device Manager'

  4. Expand the 'Computer' branch and right click on the computer (e.g. MPS Uniprocessor PC)

  5. Select the Driver tab and click 'Update Driver'

  6. Click Next to the hardware wizard

  7. Select 'Display a list of known drivers' and click Next

  8. Select the multiprocessor system and click Next

  9. Click Next to the confirmation

  10. The device driver will be updated and click Finish to close the wizard

  11. Click Yes to restart the computer

If you wish to switch from Multi to Uni follow the same procedure.
