How much faster does Nano Server boot than other configuration levels?

Q. How much faster does Nano Server boot compared to other configuration levels?

A. A Microsoft PFE has done some performance tests and found very interesting results regarding the boot performance of Nano Server vs Server Core and the Desktop Experience configuration levels.   • Nano Server - 9 second boot

  • Server Core - 85 second boot

  • Full (Desktop Experience) - 135 second boot

This shows that Nano Server boots nearly 10 times faster than even Server Core deployments. Nano Server also has substantially lower disk and memory overhead.
