How can I modify the domain refresh interval?

A. Windows refreshes the domain list whenever the machine is lockedfor more than two minutes (120 seconds). This can lead to a delay while it doesthis until the user gets control of the system again.

You can modify the amount of time it waits until refreshing by performing thefollowing:

  1. Start the registry editor (regedit.exe)

  2. Move to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon

  3. Double click on DcacheMinInterval (or if it does not exist create of type REG_DWORD)

  4. Modify between 120-86400 seconds

  5. Click OK

  6. Close the registry editor

  7. Restart the computer
