Finding Terminal Services Client Keyboard Shortcuts

Find out how to use some common keyboard shortcuts in Terminal Services client sessions.

I often use certain keyboard shortcuts—to copy the currently active window or entire desktop to the clipboard, or to cycle through applications, for example—in my regular Windows sessions. I'd like to use these shortcuts within my Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services client sessions. Can I use the shortcuts in the Windows XP or Win2K RDP Terminal Services client, or do I need a third-party utility?

You've no need for third-party software—the Microsoft RDP client offers many alternatives for regular Windows keyboard shortcuts. The special keyboard shortcuts that Table 1 lists work with the most recent versions of both the standard XP and Win2K RDP client and the Terminal Services Advanced Client (TSAC) ActiveX control.
