Microsoft has provided me with a couple of shots of the new Windows Media Player 8, which I'm told will debut in Windows XP after the release of Beta 2. Windows Media Player 8 integrates with the new "Whistler" user interface, providing this new look and feel in the player. Additionally, features from the player integrate directly into the XP shell, providing CD album cover art on folders contain Windows Media-based CD rips. As you can see from these screenshots, WMP8 is going to be a tour-de-force for music lovers. I'll have a lot more information about this exciting new software when Windows XP Beta 2 ships.
