I recently read John Savill's FAQ "How can I configure Windows XP to access ATAPI hard disks larger than 137GB?" (http://www.winnetmag.com/article/articleid/26739/26739.html). As in XP, you can edit Windows 2000's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesatapiParameters registry subkey to change the limit. For more information about this registry change, see the Microsoft article "48-Bit LBA Support for ATAPI Disk Drives in Windows 2000" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=305098).
