While Microsoft Works on Fix, Flexera Releases Its Own Patch for InstallShield
Tried of waiting, Flexera has released a temporary patch for the InstallShield issue brought on by Microsoft's KB296872.

If you've been following along you know that Microsoft's recently released KB2962872 causes Flexera Software's InstallShield application to crash. Flexera has been working diligently to determine the cause and produce a fix, hoping that Microsoft's ultimate fix would be released sooner than later.
Flexera has now released InstallShield Patch (IOJ-1662902) that essentially disables the ability to build projects using InstallShield's Trailware features: Try and Die, and Try and Buy. If you need access to this feature, obviously, don't install the patch, but you'll have to live with periodic application crashes.
Once Microsoft releases an official fix, the patch must be uninstalled anyway.
