Updated Office 365 Homepage Available for Users and Admins
Microsoft is providing details of a new homepage rollout they have started this month for their Office 365 customers.
In an article over on the Office 365 blog, there are full details about the upgraded experience users should see shortly.
The goal of the update is simple:
We’re constantly looking for opportunities to improve the way our users get things done. The new Office 365 home page enables more consistent and unified experiences for work, education and home users across every device. This new platform also helps us respond to user feedback and deliver innovative new features at a faster pace than ever before.
Some of the updates include:
The new landing page after logging in will provide users immediate access to their Office 365 applications and recent documents they have accessed/worked on.
The responsive aspect of all the Office 365 portal pages has been improved to provide users a better experience on all devices no matter the screen size.
Tool tips have been added throughout the pages to highlight new features adn those yet to be discovered by users.
Office 365 installs can now be accessed from a link on the Office 365 homepage for one click installs for desktops and tablets. You can also send yourself an SMS with a link to easily download the Office apps on your mobile device.
As an Office 365 these updates sound terrific, especially the easy access to installing other copies of the software on desktops/tablets. Currently there are a couple of methods to get access to the install process but they require a few levels of access to get to them.
A link on the homepage will make that super simple now.
But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.
