You can set up self-service business intelligence for your end users by configuring Microsoft Excel 2010 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 PowerPivot for Excel 2010 to import business intelligence data from a variety of back-end databases, data feeds, or data files. End users can then produce reports and display them on a SharePoint 2010 website.
See the Microsoft TechNet article, “Self-service business intelligence with Excel, PowerPivot for Excel, and Excel Services.”
