Windows IT Pro is ramping up its activity in Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the next few months with a series of free-to-attend events.
The programme kicks off on Thursday, November 20, with Scoring with SharePoint, a free one-day conference at Manchester United Football Club's Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, England. Sponsors are AMD, AvePoint, Axceler and Software for Windows.
Scoring with SharePoint will be presented by Windows IT Pro's SharePoint guru Dan Holme, a prolific author who's work is regularly published in this newsletter. His most recent major mission was to team up with US TV channel NBC as its Microsoft technologies consultant to bring the 2008 Beijing Olympics to television and internet viewers using MOSS 2007.
The day will start with a keynote speech on business agility and solutions powered by SharePoint which will look at the application's real-world value proposition, what works, what doesn’t, and the future of SharePoint in the enterprise. Holme will then present three more in-depth sessions: "SharePoint administration, security and governance – an intranet jump start", "21st century file sharing: configuring & managing document libraries" and "Building code-free SharePoint applications and business intelligence lite".
As it's not often the EMEA Windows IT Pro team gets to present such a world-class expert at a free-to-attend workshop, we believe that this is a unique event. And Scoring with SharePoint will cover the "free" Windows SharePoint Services (WSS), so whether they are using WSS or MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server), attendees will come away equipped to shine like SharePoint stars.
Attendees to the Scoring with SharePoint day at Old Trafford Stadium's Salford conference suite will also be offered a free tour of the European Champions' stadium at the end of the day's proceedings.
Word is already out and site administrators, dedicated MOSS developers, architects building SharePoint farms and IT directors responsible for SharePoint deployments have already reserved their seats. Readers are therefore advised to check out the Scoring with SharePoint website and register as soon as possible.
Microsoft SharePoint partners who are interested in sponsoring/exhibiting at Scoring with SharePoint should contact show director Craig Watson via email [email protected] or by 'phone on +44 (0)161 929 2800.
