Restoring Lost Journal-Entry Types

Someone in my office recently tried to add a new journal entry for an appointment, but the only journal entry types available were Phone Call and Microsoft Binder. Is there a way to restore the default journal entry types without adding new entry types to the registry one by one?

It appears that the registry subkey that contains information about Outlook's journaling settings is damaged. That subkey is HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftSharedToolsOutlookJournaling.

To repair the subkey, run regedit.exe on a machine that has all the journal entry types you typically use, then export that key to a .reg file. On the machine that's having problems, reverse the process: Run regedit.exe, then import the exported .reg file. (Be sure to back up the original registry before you import the new one!)
