Outlook Tips & Techniques: Understanding the Logging Enabled Indicator in Outlook's Title Bar

After installing Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), I noticed that my Outlook title bar now says Microsoft Outlook (Logging Enabled). I never noticed that before. What does it mean?

One of the improvements in SP1 is that Outlook puts the Logging Enabled indicator in the title bar if you've turned on logging in Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options. Because logging might slow your computer slightly, knowing when logging is turned on can be helpful.

The log files, by the way, are stored in your documents and settings%username%local settingstemp folder and include not only logs for connections to your mail servers but also a new calendar log that tracks how Outlook processes meeting requests, updates to existing appointments, free/busy publishing, reminders, and other calendar events.
