When resizing the column that displays the list of messages in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, I can't seem to retain the one-line message view when the column is narrower than a certain width. Can I force Outlook to always use the one-line view?

The default for table views in Outlook 2003 is to switch to the multiline view when the width of the column is less than 100 characters. If you use the View, Arrange By, Current View, Customize Current View, Other Settings command to open the table view's Other Settings dialog box, which Figure 1 shows, clear the Use multi-line layout in widths smaller than x characters check box, and select Always use single-line layout, Outlook will always use one line for each item in that view.
