Earlier today Microsoft announced the release of Office 2016 to users and the first group of individuals to get their hands on the final release were Office 365 subscribers.

If you or your organization is a subscriber to the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) then you now have access to the stand alone installers for the following versions of Office 2016:

  • Office Professional Plus 2016 (PC)

  • Office Home and Business 2016 for Mac

Other Office 2016 programs are also available on MSDN as of today:

  • Visio Professional 2016

  • Project Professional 2016

Previously the Mac version of Office 2016 was only available to Office 365 subscribers but according to Microsoft a stand alone installer is now available via retail channels.

Volume licensing customers will be able to download Office 2016 beginning on 01 October of this year.

My first website – AnotherWin95.com – came online in 1995. Back then I used GeoCities Web Hosting for it and WindowsObserver.com is the result of the work I have done on that site since 1995.

In January 2010 my community contributions were recognized by Microsoft when I received my first Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award for the Windows Operating System. Since then I have been renewed as a Microsoft MVP each subsequent year since that initial award. I am also a member of the inaugural group of Windows Insider MVPs which began in 2016.
